2004 Nissan/Datsun Sports Owners Club Concours De Elegance at Southbank - 28/11/04
Event Report and Pictures: Ben Winstone
The Nissan/Datsun Sports Owners Club annual Concours De Elegance was held on the Southbank Promenade along Melbourne's Yarra River in perfect (for once!) Melbourne weather.
The club caters for all models of Nissan, Datsun and Prince sporting vehicles and there was a wide variety of models on display ranging from early Prince Skylines, a 1200 Coupe and 1600 sedan, the classic Zed model cars and more modern vehicles such as R31 and R32 Skylines, 350Zs and a 200SX.
Being held in such a prominent position meant that an enormous amount of people walked past the display, many commenting on how neat the cars were and perhaps bringing back a few memories for some spectators.
mazdarotary.net was represented with 'THEBUZ' 1200 Coupe, which was the only rotary in attendance, many of the cars choosing to stick to modified versions of their original engines. The whole sleeper look attracted a lot of attention with the dummy pea-shooter exhaust bringing a smile to peoples faces.
The club regularly holds different types of events, for more information visit www.ndsoc.com.au
