Australian Motorsport Show - 21-23 February 2003

Held at the Royal Exhibition Buildings in Carlton, Melbourne, the show was a display of the latest racing components, parts and cars, along with the opportunity to purchase merchandise and memorabilia from racing teams.

The highlight of the event would have to have been at the Guru Motorsports stand where their recently completed peripheral ported 4-rotor engine was on display, along with the 13B Bridgeport motor out of proprietor Rohan Ambrose's first-gen RX-7 Improved Production racecar, with its custom quad throttle body setup uncovered. Specifications for the 4-rotor are:

- 3 piece eccentric shaft

- Peripheral ported

- 3mm MFR Carbon Apex Seals

- Power (PP Version): 682bhp @ 9700rpm

- Power (Twin Turbo Version - ESTIMATED):1450bhp @ 7200rpm

- Guru Stationery and Rotor Gears

- Expected to sell for around the mid-$30000 region

 

Specifications for the 2-rotor 13B motor are:

- 9.7:1 Compression Ratio

- Runs on Premium Unleaded

- Custom Quad-throttle bodies with Microtech injection

- Ceramic 2mm Apex Seals

- Guru Billet Centre Bearing Eccentric Shaft

- Power: 372bhp @ 12200rpm
